twice+knit is a recycled knitting project devoted to the concept of re-use and re-sourcing discarded materials and re-knitting them into useful items. The projects of twice+knit not only provide an alternative to consumer and capitalistic frameworks but also serve as a public statement about our culture’s addiction to consumer culture. The products and concepts of twice+knit can also serve as metaphors for interconnected consciousness and provide therapeutic outlets through the act and process of learning to knit. Sales of twice+knit items will serve as a fundraising outlet for Everything, Connected.
