Heres a recent snapshot of our lovely knitting circle at 88 Orchard in the Lower East Side! Come join us for coffee, discussions about farming, recycled goodness and patriarchy.
88 Orchard (at Broome Street) is a coffee shop on the Lower East Side off the Delancey Street F, V, J, M, Z train or M15 bus stop. Join us every Sunday afternoon around 4:30pm for some knit-tastic tips and an excuse to break out those needles.
+ Current Projects
twice+knit is a recycled knitting project devoted to the concept of re-use and re-sourcing discarded materials and re-knitting them into useful items. The projects of twice+knit not only provide an alternative to consumer and capitalistic frameworks but also serve as a public statement about our culture’s addiction to consumer culture. The products and concepts of twice+knit can also serve as metaphors for interconnected consciousness and provide therapeutic outlets through the act and process of learning to knit. Sales of twice+knit items will serve as a fundraising outlet for Everything, Connected.
Everything, Connected will present a series of DIY knitting workshops at the New York autumn, Swap-o-rama-rama in Bushwick, Brooklyn 195 Morgan Ave. from October 7-8th!
